Swim Style Noosa is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly, in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Name and email address
- Postal and delivery address, and phone number
- Your dress size and cup size, if you join our mailing list, so we can tell you when stock arrives in your size
- Date of birth — day and month only, if you choose to give it, so we can send you a birthday offer. We do not collect your birth year.
- Your marketing preferences
- Anything you tell us when you contact us
Information collected automatically on our website
- A randomly generated identifier stored in your browser, which lets us recognise a returning visitor
- Pages and products viewed, items added to your cart, sizes selected, and searches made
- Technical information such as IP address, browser, device type and referring website
- Cookies and similar browser storage (see section 6)
Information created when you buy from us
- Order details, items purchased, order value and order history, whether you buy online or in our shop
We do not collect or store your card details. All payments are processed by Shopify. Card numbers never reach our systems.
2. Linking your browsing to you
We want to be clear about this, because it goes further than most policies describe.
When you first visit our website, your browser is given a random identifier. Until you give us your email address that identifier is anonymous — we do not know who you are.
If you later join our mailing list or place an order, we link that identifier to you. This means we can see which products you viewed before you got in touch, and connect your browsing to your purchases.
We do this so we can:
- remind you about an item left in your cart
- tell you when something arrives in your size
- understand which products and pages lead to sales
If you would prefer we did not, you can clear your browser storage, browse privately, or contact us and ask us to delete your record.
3. How we use your information
- To process, pack and deliver your orders
- To respond to enquiries
- To manage your account and your mailing list membership
- To notify you when stock arrives in your size
- To send you marketing emails, but only if you have consented
- To send a birthday offer, if you gave us your birthday
- To understand how our website and shop are used, and improve them
- To meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations
4. Marketing and your consent
We only send marketing emails to people who have expressly agreed to receive them. When you join, you are shown a clear statement that you are agreeing to receive marketing emails from Swim Style Noosa.
We keep a record of when you gave consent, how you gave it, and the exact wording you agreed to.
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing info@swimstylenoosa.com.au. We action unsubscribe requests within five working days, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional messages such as order confirmations and shipping notifications, which we must send to fulfil your order.
5. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We use third-party analytics and advertising services, including Microsoft Clarity and the Meta Pixel, to understand how our website is used and to measure and target our advertising. These providers process this information under their own privacy policies and may use it for their own purposes. You can opt out by enabling Do Not Track in your browser.
We also share information with service providers who help us run the business, and only to the extent they need it:
| Provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| Shopify | Online store, payment processing, order management, in-store point of sale |
| Vercel | Website hosting |
| Supabase | Database holding mailing list members, website activity and order records |
| n8n | Automation connecting the systems above |
| Brevo | Sending our emails |
| Meta (Facebook, Instagram) | Measuring and targeting our advertising |
| Microsoft Clarity | Recording how visitors use the website so we can improve it |
| Delivery carriers | Shipping your order |
| Our accountants and professional advisers | Where required |
We may also disclose information where we are required or authorised to do so by law.
6. Overseas disclosure
Several of the providers listed above store and process data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union.
By providing your personal information you acknowledge that it may be handled overseas. We take reasonable steps to ensure our providers protect your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, but overseas recipients may be subject to different laws to those in Australia.
7. Cookies and browser storage
Our website uses cookies and browser storage to:
- keep the items in your shopping cart between visits
- remember your visitor identifier
- measure how the site is used
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site, through heatmaps and session recordings. Clarity masks text you type into forms.
We use the Meta Pixel to measure our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. When you give us your contact details, such as your email address, they may be hashed (converted into a code that can't be read) and shared with Meta for ad measurement. Neither Clarity nor the Meta Pixel loads if your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. Some parts of the site, the cart in particular, will not work correctly if you do.
8. How long we keep it
| Information | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Order records | Seven years, as required by Australian tax law |
| Mailing list and consent records | While you remain subscribed, and two years after you unsubscribe, so we can demonstrate that you consented and later withdrew |
| Website activity | Twenty-four months, then deleted |
9. Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access or disclosure. These include restricting access to the people who need it, using reputable providers, and keeping the credentials to our systems secure.
No system is completely secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
10. Accessing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- delete your information, where we are not required by law to keep it
Email info@swimstylenoosa.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first.
11. Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us at info@swimstylenoosa.com.au or call (07) 5474 8211. We will acknowledge your complaint within five business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The current version is always available on this page, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
